No Auction Action

New, 1 comment

Remember that house that was being auctioned off to benefit Japanese tsunami survivors? Well, the auction came and went on June 26th with no takers. Apparently, the major stumbling blocks to a sale include the 1980s style of architecture, the location of the house ("secluded rather than waterfront") and the configuration of its rooms ("including loftlike bedrooms"). A broker who has represented the property said, “Most potential buyers wanted to demolish a lot of it, or tear it down entirely.” [Previously, New York Times]
