People woke up last Saturday in East Hampton to discover their Main Street pond was a putrid, fluorescent green. Although initial theories included UFOs, algae, and anti-freeze, test by the State Department of Environmental Conservation seem to suggest it was just a non-toxic dye. Although it's vaguely possible this was unintentional, all signs seem to point towards a purposeful prank. But unlike previous episodes of East Hampton vandalism, the dye dissipated on its own and everything was back to normal by Tuesday.
