Dangerous Dives

A diver died while exploring the wreck of the Andrea Doria off Montauk on Sunday. The grand ocean liner sunk in 1956 and exploring the wreck is dangerous because it's so deep: "You have to know what you’re doing; there’s no real room for mistakes." According to the East Hampton Town Police, three divers went down together and then they reached a depth of 225 feet below the surface when two of them realized the third wasn't there. Another dive team went down and eventually found the victim's body. [27 East]
