Betting the Farm

The Sagaponack Village Architectural and History Review Board has given the go-ahead to Anthony Petrello to tear down a little 600-sq-ft cottage. What's the big deal? Well, Petrello is a Houston oil mogul who paid $2 million to the Whites for 11 acres of their beachfront property in the 1990s and now there's an epic battle between the two over the terms of that deal. (The Whites say it was unfair and Petrello says "too bad.") While the demolition of this cottage is a small victory battle for Petrello, the larger war rages on. [27 East]
