Few places do up fireworks and parades quite like the Hamptons. Here's a comprehensive guide to where to experience the magic.
FRIDAY, JULY 1ST - ABOUT 9:15PM
Southampton Fresh Air Home’s Annual American Picnic (Fireworks by Grucci)
1030 Meadow Lane, Southampton (fireworks will be shot off over Shinnecock Bay)
The Grucci family doesn't mess around when it comes to fireworks, so this aerial display is one of the most popular (and crowded). But don't even think about driving on the beach...it's closed from 650 Meadow Lane up to Road D because of nesting plovers. For those not attending the Fresh Air Home's event, head to Cooper's Beach. Rain date is Sunday, July 3rd.

MONDAY, JULY 4TH - ABOUT 9PM
Stars Over Montauk by Grucci
Umbrella Beach, Montauk
This fireworks show is an extremely popular one in the Hamptons, and driving through Montauk during this time (especially once the fireworks end) is an absolute nightmare. Make sure to arrive early enough to have time to settle down and enjoy the show.

MONDAY, JULY 4TH - 10AM TO 1PM
Southampton's Fourth of July Parade
Main Street to Jobs Lane in Southampton Village
This is as classic as it gets. At this parade (which is the largest on Long Island), you'll get your fill of floats, dancers, veterans, rock bands, classic cars, and American flags. The Grand Marshals this year are two Tuskegee Airmen from World War II.
