What's The Deal With This Dilapidated Beer Store In Bridgehampton?

New, 14 comments

At the eastern end of Bridgehampton where Highway 27 meets the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, there's a strange little store that looks like a Winter's Bone setpiece. A curious Curbed reader asks:

"For an area that is world renowned for its aesthetics, this building seems so out of place. When anyone tries to build anything out east, there are a thousand committees jumping down their throats to make sure they play by the Town's rules, so what makes this little building an exception? What Town board member is receiving under the table PBRs on the sly to keep this place from requiring a remodel?" Know something about this? Write hamptons@curbed.com with any intel. (And for those who don't know, "PBR" is Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, a popular choice among the undiscerning.)
