Philip Johnson's Stunning Farney House Is Now Just $29,950,000

New, 1 comment

Philip Johnson's Farney House in Sagaponack is still on the market and they're currently seeking $29,950,000 (although we're told the price is negotiable from there).

The historic house was completed in 1946 (and enlarged in 1989) and sits on 3.60 acres of prime oceanfront property, which includes 363 feet of beach frontage. There's a retro kidney-shaped pool, tennis court, and curious basketball court. The house itself is now 5,000-sq-ft and includes 8 bedrooms and 7 baths.

Not everyone is a fan, however. One Curbed reader expressed a bit of outrage over the home's decor ("What is a big honkin' oriental rug doing in a house like this??") and landscaping ("...and they planted geraniums! By the ocean, no less!"). Thankfully, both are issues that a new owner can easily fix.
