Take A Space-Age Odyssey Without Ever Leaving Home

This architectural curiosity has been on the market for two years and there's been no takers (it's currently listed at $725,000). Granted, it takes a person with a certain flair and confidence to purchase this one-of-a-kind home. Designed by Henri Gueron in 1971 and winner of the AIA's National Home Design Award the following year, the 950-sq-ft loft-like two bedroom, two bath with roof top deck, gunite pool, and outdoor shower on 0.46 acres is in stark contrast to the typical Hamptons abode. With its space age-y windows, the structure harks back to a time when design appeared to be heavily influenced by pop culture's vision of the future. We say live life on the edge, don the Courregès, cue up Strauss' Sprach Zarathustra, and just let HAL take over.
