Threatening Calls

We knew people were outraged last week over the possibility the Ditch Witch, a favorite Montauk food truck, might not return this summer because of a flawed permit system. But, according to East Hampton Patch, at least one Town Supervisor, Bill Wilkinson, received actual threats on his home answering machine from a constituent about it. A note to would-be harassers: Wilkinson would strongly prefer threats to be left on his office voice mail instead. "I will pick up the phone for anyone at the office," he says, but "I find it terribly harmful, disturbing and distasteful" to receive such calls at home. [EH Patch]
