One of the toughest reservations Memorial Day weekend in the Hamptons will be at the new Nobu at Capri in Southampton.
Here's a quick guide on how to score a table:
Call: The phone number is currently not listed, but as soon as it is, put it on speed dial. Personal assistants across the city are already on high-alert waiting to pounce when the time comes.
Know Someone: Cozy up to Richie Notar, the man who runs all the Nobu's and is no stranger to the Hamptons. You can also attempt to befriend Capri owners Steven Kamali, David Edelstein, or Jackie Mansfield.
Be A Celebrity Regular: Martha Stewart, Howard Stern, and Gwyneth Paltrow frequent the various Nobus around the world and will be embraced by this newest location. Be their plus-ones and you're in during the big weekend.
Get Nobu-Adjacent: Guests lounging at The Bathing Club at the Capri Hotel will also have access to a selection of Nobu's menu, so securing a spot on the 60-foot-long daybed from which to enjoy miso-glazed black cod will be key. (Whether or not the menu will also be available for room service is still being sorted out, but that could be a good approach, too.)
Recreate the Magic at Home: If all else fails, fix yourself one of their signature lychee martinis in your own home and just pretend you're there. The official Nobu recipe: 2 ounces of vodka plus 2 ounces of lychee syrup (from canned lychees). Shake over ice, serve up, and garnish with a skewered lychee.
