New Southampton Petition Seeks to Restore Glory Days of 2005

Oh, how we miss the good ol' days of 2005. The Airbus A380 took its first flight out of Toulouse, Kuwaiti women were granted the right to vote, and the Village of Southampton had zoning laws that prevented overbuilding.

Then in 2006, the Village of Southampton amended their zoning rules to allow, among other things, larger homes and more improvements (like pool houses and garages) to be built than ever before. But now people are starting to notice the increased density and one resident, Sally Spanburgh, is mad as hell and isn't going to take it anymore. She's taking her frustration to the streets with an electronic petition that seeks to restore those pre-2006 zoning rules. Jane Jacobs would be proud!
