Eccentric Billionaire Jeff Greene in Talks to Buy $45M Compound

"Eccentric" billionaire Jeff Greene is allegedly thinking about acquiring Tyndal Point, the massive compound in North Haven. The tip, which comes from @Hamptons Born, reads as follows: "Party guy and former senate candidate Jeff Greene close to buying Tyndal Point in the Hamptons for $41mil. Does his yacht fit in the lagoon?" And hey, since the 55-acre estate comes with 3,000 feet of waterfront, we have a feelign Greene's 145-foot yacht will come along regardless.

So other than endless acreage, what else does Tyndal offer? Well, there are three cottages, two carriage houses, loads of deep-water docks, and pending permits for a six-lot subdivision. But the compound also has a remarkable pricing history. When it first hit the market, Tyndal Point wanted $80 million! Thereafter, the priced slipped to $75 million, and then again to $44.99 million (where it's priced now). So in context, the purported $41 million sale price is a steal!
