The latest edition of 7-Eleven v. The Hamptons takes us further west to Tuckahoe. The owner of a "mostly vacant strip mall" is looking to add a 7-Eleven, but zoning laws prohibit convenience stores. The owner is trying to squeeze a variance out of the Town Board, and may have intentionally scheduled the hearing when key board members would be absent. Sneaky! But not sneaky enough! The Town Board noticed, and rescheduled the hearing for later this month. [27East]
