Vintage Ocean Ave Cottage Accepted Almost $1M Discount

New, 1 comment

This ritzy little East Hampton cottage's history starts back in 1914 when it was built on Ocean Ave, most likely so its owners could hit up Main Beach without much effort. Around 100 years later, not much has changed, except that the home now has a new set of owners, who scored the property at quite the discount. The relatively small .65-acre property first hit the market in July for $5.8 million—a price that included the 4,500-square-foot home, mature landscaping, and a charming pool house. By January, it had a contract, for which the deed has just been recorded. And the final sale price? Only $4.9 million! Yes, nearly $1 million less than the most recent asking price, but not that far off from nearby comps.
