American Hotel Owner Unloads His Sag Harbor Captain's Manse

Yarrr—glad tidings for American Hotel owner Ted Conklin, who's been trying to unload two adjoining properties in Sag Harbor village since last summer. Curbed Hamptons hears that the far grander of the two—a 1700s Sea Captain's mansion comprising 1.22 acres of land, a sparkling pool, and an unheard of four parlors—has just gone to contract. The house, which opened with an asking price of $6.5 million, got PriceChopped down to $5.995 million in October and then to $5.2 million earlier this month, presumably about where this deal closed. No word as yet on the buyer, who'll have to contend with the fact the property sits right on Route 114 across from the crumbling Bulova Watch Factory and the inevitable dust and debris that'll follow its teardown or conversion to condos. Ahoy!
