Pricing historic homes in the Hamptons is an art not easily mastered. (Just ask this circa 1914 cottage!) So you have to give credit to the circa 1812 shown above, which hit the market in mid-January and scored the ever-elusive contract this week. Just three months later, and nary a PriceChop in sight! The 2,800-square-foot colonial, which has seen more wars than most, sits on an acre of land on an intersection that's not exactly the road less traveled. But with town and the ocean nearby, and a couple of outbuildings with loads of potential, this seems to be a fair trade. Let's just wait to see how close the contract lands to the property's $2.1 million asking price before declaring victory.
