In its ninth year, Hamptons Restaurant Week, which is going on now and runs until March 20, has decided to do more than put amazing dinner specials in our stomachs. Yup, WordHampton Public Relations, who throws the event together each year, decided to donate $1 to Maureen's Haven, an outreach program in Riverhead, for every person who likes the week's Facebook page. Who isn't on Facebook these days? And it turns out the event will help more than just the local community. WordHampton tells Southampton Patch that the activity during the otherwise slow month of March helps prep restaurants for the season. "It gives their staff a chance to get readjusted." But enough about everyone else, how do we benefit? How about with three-course meals for either $19.95 or $24.95 at restaurants like Bobby Van's, Della Femina, The 1770 House, and Gurney's Sea Grille.
