Iconic Grey Gardens Can Be Yours for Two Weeks in August!

The iconic Grey Gardens estate in East Hampton is officially up for rent this summer! The documentary-ready property is currently owned by writer Sally Quinn and her husband, former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee. Since buying the place in 1979, the couple kicked out the cats and overhauled the 6,000-square-foot home, even scoring a spread in AD along the way. Over the years, the couple has also successfully rented the place, first for 12 years, and then reportedly again for five years to interior designer Celerie Kemble. But now it's your chance to share in the magic (or something like that) for two weeks in August for a mere $135,000. Drew Barrymore not included.

Enough about it's history! Let's get to the real meat of this listing. The shingle-style "cottage," which is listed with Sotheby's Bill Williams, has a total of seven bedrooms throughout the second and third floors and four bathrooms overall. Downstairs is a delightful sun room, a renovated kitchen, and a room for the staff. And sprinkled across the property's grey (yet pretty colorful) gardens are all sorts of unique amenities, including a thatched roof pool house, a clay tennis court, and a gunite pool.
