Next Tuesday, Guild Hall will play host to a reading of While Mortals Sleep: A Vonnegut Christmas Tale. Written by NYC playwright Matthew Burnett, the play is based upon a pair of short stories from Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s posthumously released collection titled While Mortals Sleep: Unpublished Short Fiction. "It’s the first time it will be seen and read in a public forum," says Mr. Burnett, "It's a little terrifying." It's a definite departure from the usual fare offered this time of year, but according to the playwright, "Every Christmas play does not have to be the Nutcracker.” Speaking of which, Guild Hall is hosting that particular work this weekend.
