Following a special Town Board meeting earlier today, East Hampton's Natural Resources Director Larry Penny was suspended for 30 days without pay, pending disciplinary charges. The board did not immediately disclose the specifics, but the vote to suspend was unanimous. Also receiving a unanimous vote at the morning meeting was the appointment of Diana Weir to the town's Planning Board. She replaces Frank Falcone, who recently stepped down after saying the position was interfering with his personal life and prior commitments. Best of luck to the both of them. [27 East]
