After entering a guilty plea last month, Angel Palencia was sentenced to six years in jail for stealing upwards of 600k worth of artwork from East End homes last winter. "He was definitely not an art connoisseur," said detective Ned Grathwohl, referring to the fact that some of the stolen works had little or no value. At the time of his arrest officials doubted he was acting alone, but it now appears that they've closed the case. "We have no leads to anyone or anything else to go on," Det. Grathwohl stated, but, "if we get a tip, we'll follow it." Until then, most of the purloined artwork has been returned and those involved seemed satisfied with the case's outcome. [SI Reporter]
