Happy Chanukah!

Congratulations are in order?or should we say mazltov??for Almond Restaurant & Bar's executive chef, Jason Weiner. On Monday, he was awarded first place for his house-smoked bluefish, goat yogurt and dill latke at the Third Annual Latke Festival held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Mr. Weiner's winning potato pancake?a family recipe passed down from his grandmother?contained all locally sourced ingredients and won over a panel of judges that included the James Beard Foundation's Mitchell Davis and New York Times contributing author Melissa Clark.
