No Jail Time

New, 4 comments

Charlotte DePersia's sentence for her 2010 arrest that involved driving while intoxicated and vehicular assault isn't sitting well with many, especially the victims of the accident. "I don't buy her staged remorse," said Karyn Scholack, one of the four passengers involved in the crash, "She's been in this position before." Even though this was Ms. DePersia's second DWI conviction, she received no jail time. Instead, she is required to submit to random drug tests and wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet during her five years of probation, complete 840 hours of community service, pay a fine of $1,575 and had her driving privileges revoked for one year. Looks like someone's lawyer is going to be receiving an extra big fruit basket this holiday season. [Patch]
