Summer Rentals For The Obscenely Rich, Southampton Edition

For some, November evokes images of pumpkin pie and apple cider?but we like to think of it as the perfect time for researching summer rentals. We'll be highlighting a few of the pricier options?starting in Southampton and making our way to Montauk by the end of the week. First up: Shinnecock Hills, Southampton, Water Mill and North Sea.

1. 160 Ox Pasture Road, Southampton [Corcoran]
The Price: $850K (MD - LD) or $1.25M (year round)
The Skinny: One of the East End's most expensive listings (and Deathmatch victor) is also one of the its most expensive rentals. The 9 acre estate is located in the village features and features amenities like an "indoor pool, outdoor pool with pavilion, tennis court, paddle court, gymnasium, [and] carriage house."

2. Westway Dive, Shinnecock Hills [Nestseekers]
The Price: $195K (MD - LD) or $225K (year round)
The Skinny: With views of the Ocean and Shinnecock Bay, this five-bedroom modern offers privacy, beach access and mooring rights. And, if you're looking to extend your stay, for another 30K you can have the place year-round.

3. 31 Cedar Crest, North Sea [Corcoran]
The Price: $195K (August - LD) or $150K (winter)
The Skinny: "Custom designed with entertaining in mind", this newly-constructed 11-bedroom home is the "largest home available for rent on any waterfront in the Hamptons." Overlooking the Great Peconic Bay, "spellbinding" views are available from almost every room in the house.

4. 75 First Neck Lane, Southampton [Prudential]
The Price: $425,000 (MD - LD)
The Skinny: Recently renovated and found in the heart of Southampton's estate area, this 10-bedroom sits on "2 acres of park-like gardens that you will never want to leave." And in case another storm leaves the East End without power, the home comes equipped with its own Kohler backup generator.

5. Sensational Water Mill Estate [Corcoran]
The Price: $600K (MD - LD)
The Skinny: According to the listing this 8500 sq. ft. is "unlike any other rental in the Hamptons." While nothing about its amenities seems to live up this boast?tennis courts, theatre, sauna, exercise room, wine cellar, stone terraces?we can't imagine guests turning up their noses at this 8 bedroom.
