If you haven't heard of short-term rental site, airbnb.com, you could be missing out on scoring a killer vacation home at a incredibly reasonable price. While the site has come under fire in recent months, it still remains a great resource for some pretty great deals (and some pretty terrible ones as well). We've rounded up just a few of the site's East End offerings.
? Best Looking
Woodland Dr, Southampton
Price: $350/night
We realize "best looking" is completely subjective, but we really dig this Noyac offering. The 8 bedrooms (African, Moroccan, Bali Indonesian, and Chinese decor) allow for 16+ guests, making the nightly price tag even more attractive.
? Best Location
Peconic Ave, Sag Harbor
Price: $500/night
If you're looking for a beachfront home at a reasonable price, look no further than this Sag Harbor 4-bedroom. Sitting next to the Elizabeth Morton Nature preserve and offering private access to their beach, this is "the perfect place to teach kids to swim and enjoy nature in quiet and private luxury."
? Best Value
Room # 2 - Highland Blvd, East Hamton
Price: $59/night
We wouldn't call this place a showstopper, but if you're looking to get out of the city for a few days, but for $59/night you could do much, much worse. Most importantly: The reviews are all glowing: "It was a home away from home." "Their home is clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay with them again." "Great location. Quiet and clean house. Wonderful and kind hosts."
? Worst Price
Royal Oak Way, Montauk
Price: $2500/night
If you've got cash burning a hole in your pocket and no impulse control, you might want to consider this Montauk offering. The $2500/night price tag works out to be over $900K/year. While the nightly sunsets visible from this place's outdoor wraparound deck and pool must be nice, we can't imagine they're worth that much. From the lack of reviews currently found on this home's AirBNB page, it seems like many agree with us.
? Worst First Impression
Old Orchard Rd, Southampton
Price: $400/night
This property's owner seems to think that showcasing her canine, Connor (arguably very cute), is going to help find guests. Not everyone loves dogs, especially wet ones.
Worst Listing
Gardiner Ave, East Hampton
Price: $1250/night
It shouldn't be too hard to figure out why. Although, what this listing says is true.
