It looks like the current owner of the Sag Harbor Methodist Church got sick of waiting for the planning board to approve Elizabeth Dow's plans to convert the building into a design studio. Curbed readers will remember that Ms. Dow agreed to a $2.1M purchase of the property back in the summer of 2010. However, on Monday, Sloan Schaffer announced he has signed a contract to buy the 10,000 sq. ft. landmark from former Goldman Sachs executive Dennis Suskind.
This development seems to have completely blindsided Ms. Dow?just last week, she presented updated plans for the church to the village board. Ms. Dow declined to comment on the news of this new contract.
