After remaining in the family for over 60 years, it looks like proprietors of Sam's Restaurant will not be renewing their lease when it comes time. The owner of 36 Newtown Lane is hoping to find someone to rent the 91-seat restaurant space for $20K/month. Glenn Horowitz Bookseller?which operates a small store/gallery in the building?will also be vacating the premises and is headed to their store down the street. That 400 sq. ft. retail space can be rented for $4000/month. Both can be had for $23,000.
Or, the whole shebang can be purchased outright for the tidy sum of $6.5M. This number includes a pair of two-bedroom apartments upstairs. We only hope that if someone does buy the property that they keep the name. We'd miss the neon sign.
