Sam Talbot, Surf Lodge's executive chef, has a new book out. Called "part cookbook, part memoir", The Sweet Life: Diabetes Without Boundaries chronicles the former Top Chef contestant's twenty year struggle with type 1 diabetes and offers recipes and tips for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. "I learned early on that what I put in my mouth directly affects how I feel," Mr. Talbot said, unaware of how that statement might be construed. [Time]
