Last week, we mentioned that the owner of Sag Harbor's Methodist Church had entered into a contract with Sloan Schaffer. This came as a surprise as Elizabeth Dow had been slated to purchase the property for $2.1M for more than a year while she worked out issues with the zoning board. However, it seems that Mr. Schaffer was just a "a back-up buyer" and as of Monday, Ms. Dow is now the owner of the historic building.
"The light bill is in my name so here we go," Ms. Dow said, referring to her plans to now renovate the church to include a wall-covering studio and retail shop. "I can’t wait to get started on this project."
