North Sea Day Camp

New, 1 comment

The developer that initiated a $65M defamation lawsuit against opponents of his proposed North Sea Day Camp has has no interest in selling the land to the Southampton Town Community Preservation Fund. Jay Jacobs said that if the town is seriously interested in preserving the land, approving his camp is "the best thing the town could do." The alternative? Condos. The 17 acre property could accomodate 37 of them without a variance. While it sounds vaguely like a threat, he does have a point. If the "Friends Of Fresh Pond" are worried about polluting the pond, the construction of almost 40 condos will most assuredly do just that. [Previously, 27 East]
