In a discovery that is certain to shock dozens of entomologists, a 9-spotted ladybug has taken up residence on a Hamptons farm. The beetle, a stranger to the East Coast since the early 80s, fortuitously settled on a property protected from development. When asked for comment, one of the insects responded, "We know how upset everyone got when the plovers moved to town. We just want to be good neighbors and keep your gardens free of pests." [NY Post]
