The Nathaniel Rogers House

After purchasing the dilapidated mansion on the corner of Montauk Highway and Ocean Road, the Bridgehampton Historical Society hopes to move in after renovations are completed sometime in 2014. Named for the noted portrait artist Nathaniel Rogers, the former farmhouse will eventually serve as headquarters for the society and feature an education center, exhibition galleries, a gift shop and offices. Elementary school children from the future were overheard saying, "It's really boring, but it's better than being in school". [NY Times]
