The Streisand Effect

The Southampton Town Republican Committee has filed a complaint with the town's ethics board alleging that Supervisor Councilwoman Anna Throne-Holst and Bridget Fleming improperly used town resources. The group is claiming that the duo's use of town hall for a video entitled "People Not Politics" violates election code. While their complaint is most certainly valid, they would have been better served had they just let they little-watched video fade into the Internet ether. All they've succeeded in doing is drawing more attention to the competing party's 11-minute campaign ad. [Patch]
