Sag Harbor's proposed ban on bamboo is being met with concern from the same residents it was designed to help. At a recent board meeting, Pat Field?who originally requested the village address the issue?said, "I don't want to change all of Sag Harbor." "I think this is a neighbor to neighbor problem," noted Diane Schiavoni. Another resident added, "It would never occur to me to come to the village trustees and ask them to address the situation." Sensing that the law might do more harm than good, Sag Harbor Mayor Brian Gilbride noted that this might be something that just can't be legislated. [Previously, Sag Harbor Express]
