Erosion Commotion

New, 2 comments

In the wake of December's northeaster, a group of 13 Montauk residents from the Soundview community decided to sue pretty much every government body around. The group thinks the government's guilty because it built jetties in Montauk Harbor, but failed to control erosion afterwards. And now, their lawyers are saying things like "For years, government at all levels ... has stood by and done nothing while the plaintiffs have seen their beach disappear and their homes become threatened with imminent loss and destruction." Dramatic, but true! [EH Star]
