Hurricane Earl came and went this weekend, and here's a little play-by-play: After getting cold feet, the storm headed much further east than anticipated, which left the Island largely unscathed. In fact, Earl actually helped the beaches in some areas. Go figure! Looks like the only real damage was to the Long Island Power Authority's wallet, which dished out "more than $15 million in preparation" for the storm that never showed. [27 East]
