How do you get the Southampton Planning Board to actually help move your 78-unit condo project along faster? Simple! Just pick an industrial site that pretty much everyone hates. That strategy worked for developer George Benedict, who's plan to redevelop a 4.9 acre compost site off Hill Street met with a speedy approval because the current use "creates odors, noise and other annoyances"—and the neighbors didn't like that. Hopefully the new condo owners aren't smelly, noisy, and just plain annoying too. [27 East]
