Who does a doctor go to when she gets sick? Better yet, who does a New York broker go to when her Southampton villa just won't sell? Why, East End firm Town & Country, of course. The story starts back in 2008, when a Halstead agent listed her freshly renovated house for $2.995 million with Brown Harris Stevens. Brokers helping brokers; how nice! But after nearly two years of price ups and downs (a $100K chop was regretted and reversed a couple months later), the Halstead broker agreed to drop the price to $2.695 million and throw Town & Country into the mix. To move things along even faster, phrases like "owner financing available" and "reduced for quick sale" were also sprinkled about. But we think the house's gleaming decor will ultimately do the trick.
