Officials from the East Hampton Library will file a lawsuit against the Town Board over its controversial expansion plans today. The library believes that given the project's wildly high approval rating from a recent public vote, it would be in the community's best interest to forge forward with the project, even though the Board denied the plans back in July. As one library official puts it: "we believe the community has spoken." Yes, but did the people mention anything about "a distasteful litigation between two venerable community institutions?" Probably not. [EH Star; previously]
