The historic Amagansett Lifesaving Station, which was moved to Atlantic Ave, has been sitting tight for the past few years. Currently, the Historical Society has a lease on the structure, and pinky-promises to repair it and stuff. But one guy would rather see the "historic firewood pile" serve as a museum, the lifeguards' headquarters, a historic archive, a gift shop, and a coffee, wine, and beer cafe. Sadly, other people aren't so keen on the cafe—but the guy realizes that! He explains: "If you took out of the discussion the mention of beer and wine ... you would have heard" some interest. Ain't that always the case? [EH Star]
