Very little compares to the private enclave of estate homes in the Georgica Association in Wainscott. And for that reason, director and screenwriter Robert Benton evidently has no problem slapping a $29.9 million price tag onto his 2.5-acre pondfront spread in the tony community. The Kramer v. Kramer cottage features an eye-catching "40-foot-wide great room," which was "designed by the architect Charles Gwathmey" and "decorated with 16th-century beams recovered from a house in England." Other aquatic amenities include ocean access, "a large coastal lagoon," and 724' of pond-frontage. Listing agent Peter Turino, president of BHS of the Hamptons, adds that the 5,000-square-foot house offers a three-car garage and four bedrooms. According to the WSJ, Benton was a victim of the recent Kenneth I. Starr financial fraud. But don't feel too bad! "A broker familiar with the listing said that the Starr fraud allegation wasn't a factor in the sale."
