Mold Slows down Love Lane As East Hampton Looks to Sell Its Share

There's a lot going on at the Poxabogue Golf Course in Sagaponack! First off, a couple of weeks ago, word came to us that a mold problem would keep the new Love Lane Cafe at Poxabogue out of commission until at least mid-July. According to the East Hampton Press, however, everyone's "preparing for the possibility of having to completely close the building during the height of the summer season while extensive renovation work is done." Luckily, the entire overhaul "could take as little as a week to complete," which means that the cafe might open sooner rather than later.

But while officials move to settle the mold problem, another issue arises. As East Hampton's $30 million deficit worsens, some officials are looking to unload its share in the course, which the village jointly purchased with Southampton in 2003 for $6.5 million. According to the Independent, East Hampton already approached South about selling its share, and is now looking to have its chunk of the course appraised. Let's stay tuned as Poxabogue braces for a game of deal or no deal.
