You've probably noticed the sad hunk of Greek Revival architecture on the corner of Ocean Road and Main Street in Bridgehampton. Some call it an eyesore, others call it the Nathaniel Rogers House. But whatever you call it, agree that this circa 1840 thing is looking rough. (As of last weekend, all four columns were removed and all of its windows were boarded up.) The ultimate goal for the property, which was donated to the Town of Southampton by the Bridgehampton Historical Society, is to turn it into the society's headquarters, a multipurpose education center, and—get this—a gift shop! Let's wish the Historical Society luck as they forge forward with this serious Bridgehampton buzz kill.
