Southampton Continues to One-Up Sag in The Land Game

About a month ago, we challenged Sagaponack to reaffirm itself as the King of big land deals. (Southampton famously seized that title last month after nine acres sold for $24.5 million.) But it seems our taunting was to no avail: the final $27.8 million spread at the Sagaponack Greens remains unsold and no new Sagaponack parcels have entered the marketplace. And to add insult to injury, a tract of waterfront land in Southampton Village just came on the market for $35 million. With 8-acres, the Southampton parcel is also subdivision ready. So unless something big happens in Sagaponack, it looks like 2010 might be Southampton's year.
