This Means Wharf

The engineering reports are in, and Sag Harbor's Long Wharf is going to need about $340,000 in short-term repairs. Quite a bit more than the $1 the village was looking to pay for the plot of waterfront land. To add insult to injury, an additional, more detailed report claims the property will actually need over $600,000 in maintenance over the next decade. These costs are high, but officials still agree "it's in the village's interest to own Long Wharf so they can have total control over its future." [Sag Harbor Online; previously]
