Curbed Cup 2nd Round: (1) Sag Harbor vs. (5) East Hampton

The Curbed Cup, our annual award to the Hamptons neighborhood of the year, is moving on to the second round. This week we'll have two matchups, and all the results and the full tourney bracket will be reviewed on Friday. Voting for each pairing ends in the wee hours the next morning. Let the eliminations commence!

Last week, broker-favorite Sag Harbor gave Water Mill a run for its money, snagging over 70% of the votes. But how will the homey whaling village perform against the more indulgent East Hampton, which just beat out Southampton? Both towns saw some pretty epic residential and commercial listings this year, as well as some controversy (exhibits A and B). It's a close call for sure, but let's not forget that the American Hotel's Ted Conklin chose East Hampton to Sag Harbor this year. Not that his vote counts any more than yours, although it's something to think about!
