Looks like the East End real estate market isn't the only thing shaky these days—so is the ground! As reported by a couple of local news outlets, there actually was a 3.39 magnitude earthquake a mere 79 miles off the cost of Southampton. Even a shopkeeper at Hildreth's Department Store felt it! She explains, "I felt some shaking this morning, but I thought it was just a bunch of guys outside drilling. It was only for a second or so." So far, "no injuries or damages have been reported," which makes sense since this thing was minor. But the quake does come only a day after a more significant earthquake in Tokyo. Just add that to the long list of similarities between Southampton and Tokyo, we guess.
