Phase One of Nathaniel Rogers House Restoration Will Cost $1.9M

New, 2 comments

The teetering mass of Greek Revival architecture at the corner of Montauk Highway and Ocean Road will finally get the pick-me-up it needs: Money! Lots of it! According to the Sag Harbor Express, the Nathaniel Rogers House's stewards, Southampton Town and the Bridgehampton Historical Society, have selected a contractor for the "exterior stabilization of the historic building." These days, the price of exterior stabilization costs $1.9 million, but that's just a drop in the ionic column compared to the renovation's total expected cost of $4.5 million. Either way, this landmark is one step closer to becoming a multi-purpose visitor's center (read: fancy gift shop).
