After $1.5M Chop, 'Ready To Sell' Estate Finds A Buyer

Right next door to actor Richard Gere's old house, a 7,000-square-foot colonial has entered into contract. The gambrel-style home, which was originally constructed by builder Joe Farrell, first hit the market in May of this year for a staggering $10.5 million—quite a bit more than its 2009 sale price of $6.450 million! But maybe the home's professionally-decorated interiors have something to do with that. After all, driftwood paneled libraries and all that picture molding do not come free. Regardless, after dropping the price to $8.995 million, the home was ultimately able to find a buyer, and is now safely listed "in contract."
