$1.1M Foreclosure Possibly Linked to Chief of LI Drug Ring

Hamptonites: They're not always upstanding citizens! Take the owner of this $1.1 million waterfront home in Southampton, who our friends at Property Shark peg as Salvatore Gerrato, "the alleged chief of a gambling and drug ring in Long Island." Courtesy of Property Shark's fact-finding, it appears Gerrato was charged for serving as "chief bookmaker" of several "lucrative marijuana and fireworks smuggling rackets" on Long Island. The Times notes that Gerrato was even able to regularly smuggle in enough marijuana to yield "$1 million to $1.5 million in street sales"—money that'd otherwise help pay a $1,140,012 lien executed against his house. But since that's probably not happening, feel free to bid on the .11 acre property on November 19th...you could be in by Thanksgiving!
